In a moment, I’m going to tell you a bit about myself, and why I first ran for Congress. But first, I need to tell you this: I’m running for one of the most competitive seats in the country, and I’m up against an end-of-month deadline tomorrow night. So if you’re already with me, please donate any amount you can afford to help me defend this seat:
I grew up right here in Western PA. That’s where I learned to step up for your community when it’s in crisis. It’s why I joined the Navy after 9/11 and served in Iraq. It’s why I led election security efforts at Pitt’s Cyber Institute.
It’s why, after the insurrection at the Capitol on January 6th, I took a long hard look at Washington.
I saw that our democracy was under attack. I saw many Republicans who were (and still are) doing the bidding of Donald Trump and powerful corporations instead of the people they’re supposed to represent.
This behavior isn’t patriotic. It’s cowardly, plain and simple. As someone who’s dedicated so much of my life to protecting our freedom and securing our elections in our democracy, I knew I couldn’t sit back while right-wing extremists t continued attacking our rights and threatening the health of our democracy.
So I decided to run for office. And thanks to this grassroots team, we defied the odds, and won this toss-up seat.
And John, I’m just as fired up today as I was when I launched my first campaign.
I’m running for re-election because I love this country, I love Western PA, and I’ll never give up on our fight to protect this democracy.
I’m ready to continue standing up for Pennsylvanians in Congress, but my race is going to be a close one. It’s one of just a few across the country that will decide whether Democrats take back the House. Your support got me across the finish line in 2022, so I’m asking for your help again. Please chip in to support my re-election campaign today and let’s take back the House →
