On Saturday, Texas GOP leaders met at their convention to vote on their 2024 platform and nominate leadership that will set vision and represent the will of the modern GOP in Texas.
While they were there, they affirmed a provision in their platform to treat all abortions as murders. You read that right, women who get abortions in Texas could be charged with murder and receive the death penalty.
Feminist organizing in these times is grueling work, but we can't give up or grow complacent. Can you give $5 to support feminist organizing work today?
To be clear: this is not a noisy minority, this is a centrist GOP position in Texas. And many of the Texas lawmakers responsible for creating or executing the party platform play leadership roles in the national MAGA movement.
This is just one more reason why we have to keep MAGA from slithering straight from the court house to the White House this year. Texas has been the laboratory for MAGA’s most craven, most inhumane experiments, and we cannot allow fascism to triumph over freedom.
