From Friday to Sunday, climate and social justice activists are joining forces all over Europe to mobilise against the climate crisis and its consequences.

Here’s your exclusive preview of our climate video which we will post on all our channels tomorrow morning:

Why is this weekend so important for us as Greens?

We stand at a turning point in history. Europe needs to face the climate crisis in its full urgency, reducing its emissions as rapidly as possible to secure the most liveable future possible for the years and decades ahead.

Europe needs a plan to phase out all fossil fuels subsidies by 2025 at the latest, and all other environmentally harmful subsidies by 2027 at the latest. The billions of euros from fossil fuel subsidies must be channelled into renewable energy, energy efficiency and energy savings.

That’s why the climate marches this weekend, and the European elections next week, are so crucial for the planet.

The pressure of the climate movement has helped make the European Green Deal a reality. Now, it’s time to defend what we have achieved against the conservative and far-right backlash, and to be even more ambitious in our fight for a greener future.
