John,

Did you get a chance to read Tony’s recent email below?

Will you join him in being a part of the solution by making a donation to help us reach our end-of-fiscal-year goal of getting 250 donors before the deadline tomorrow?

Every donation we get will go toward helping to free the innocent and transform the system that wrongfully convicted them in the first place.

Thank you so much for your support,

— The Innocence Project Team

Subject: Will you join me in being part of the solution?

Dear John,

Twenty-three years ago, my wife and I were watching the news when we learned about a man named Kenny Waters, who had just been freed after 18 years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit. To us, his story felt shocking and incredibly uncommon. So much so that I made a movie about it called Conviction.

But as I dove deeper into the world of wrongful conviction, I learned that Kenny’s story wasn’t so unique — that, because of an unjust and inequitable system, people across the country are going to prison for crimes they didn’t commit. That’s when I decided to get involved with the Innocence Project. I wanted to be a part of the solution, and today, I’m proud to serve as a board member.

I’m reaching out to you during a critical time as we wrap up the end of the fiscal year to ask you to join me in being a part of the solution. We need 250 supporters to make a gift to the Innocence Project before the end of May to hit our goals — can we count on you?

Donate

During these upcoming weeks, we’re finalizing our plans for the next 12 months, so it’s an important time to raise support for everything we want to accomplish.

Look, it’s no secret that working to free innocent people from prison and transform the system that put them there in the first place can be extraordinarily difficult. But knowing that we have our base of grassroots supporters, like you, beside us every step of the way makes me feel like we can make a difference.

If you can, help us reach our end-of-fiscal-year goal and donate today.

Thank you so much for your support,

Tony Goldwyn
