Good morning, friend! I hope your day is off to a good start. 

Before I head out the door, I wanted to catch you up on our May end-of-month goal and our must-win Senate race against Ted Cruz while you're having your morning coffee.

If you're in a rush and don't have time for my full update, I'll cut to the chase: We still need to raise $265,786 to hit my $450K goal before May 31. Will you chip in $5 or whatever you can afford before midnight?

Polling shows me neck and neck with Ted Cruz, and experts have updated Texas from "Solid Republican" to "Battleground." And they've called Ted Cruz the most vulnerable Republican Senator in the nation. 

That's why I'm feeling hopeful this morning, friend. Because I know that if enough of us come together, we have a very real shot at finally sending Ted Cruz packing.

But there are still some major obstacles standing between us and a win on Nov. 5: Ted's shady super PAC friends have already committed more than $10 million to try and squash our chances of winning in Texas, and you can bet that the closer we get to Election Day, the more money will come pouring in.

So before you get on with your day, I have one quick ask: Will you help me reach our end-of-month goal and defeat Ted Cruz? In a race this close, $5 is all it takes to make a real impact so that we can mobilize Texans, defeat Ted, and finally bring real leadership to Texas.
