Charlene Huynh, a former intern at The Progressive magazine and a current student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison has won the Waging Peace in Vietnam Essay contest, co-sponsored by the UW-Madison International Division and Madison Veterans For Peace, Chapter 25 - the Clarence Kailin chapter.

The contest was held as part of a three-week exhibit ([link removed]) at the Wisconsin Historical Society in April. The award includes recognition and a cash prize. The essay contest was judged by Craig McNamara, author of Because Our Fathers Died: A Memoir of Truth and Family From Vietnam to Today.
