Texas State Society Breakfast Club
It was a pleasure to be the keynote speaker at the Texas State Society Breakfast Club in Washington, D.C last week. I had a great discussion with fellow Texans on the future of energy, global energy demands, immigration reform, and how together we can protect our Southern Border and support U.S. Border Patrol personnel.
How the PACT Act is Delivering for Our Veterans
Over 1 million PACT Act claims have been approved, delivering crucial healthcare to veterans across the country, including South Texas. I was proud to vote for this historic law to keep our promise to our veterans and enable them to receive the benefits they deserve.
Please visit www.va.gov/PACT to determine if you are eligible for PACT Act benefits and services. Do you need help with a claim with the VA? My office can help. Give us a call at (956) 682-5545 to speak with a member of my team.

Memorial Day
This Memorial Day, I had the opportunity to join the Silent March held by Tribute to the Troops in Brownsville to remember our fallen heroes.

I also had the honor of attending the unveiling of “Harlingen’s 23 Vietnam KIA” Monument, gifted by the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 856. This monument honors the lives of those patriots who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
Congressman Gonzalez Celebrates Over $28 Million for Lead Pipe Replacement in Texas
Two weeks ago, I announced that the State of Texas has been allotted $28,650,000 from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF). The DWSRF is funded directly by President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which I helped shepherd through the House in 2021. This year, DWSRF will provide $3 billion across the nation to support the identification and replacement of lead service lines.

Nearly $8 Million for Public Housing in South Texas
Thanks to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), a total of $7,942,245 in grants have been provided to upgrade public housing in South Texas. The grants are from HUD’s Capital Fund Program which gives annual funding to eligible Public Housing Authorities to support construction, renovation, or modernization of public housing in their respective communities. This greatly supports disadvantaged families and strengthens our region.
