I want to be direct with you, Samuel: we're being outraised and outspent by the GOP. There are some fundamental differences about how our two parties raise money. The Republicans can have the President of the United States, the Senate Majority Leader, and the Speaker of the House call up millionaire and billionaire donors, make all kinds of promises, and collect big checks. But we're powered by folks like you. In fact, as of last month, 70 percent of our contributions this year have come from grassroots supporters who've given less than $200, and our average donation online is $22. Every penny that grassroots supporters like you have donated has gone towards helping elect more Democrats up and down the ticket all over the country. We've been able to hire more organizers and make a big investment in this year's races in Virginia because of you. And it's more than just what's in the bank -- what folks like you have given this year is a sign that the grassroots movement we've built together is going strong. We need to close the fundraising gap with the GOP if we're going to win, and we simply cannot do that without you. Our end-of-month fundraising deadline is quickly approaching, and I'm calling on your support.
