Dear John, Pro-life candidates who earned Oregon Right to Life PAC’s endorsement won big in the May 21 primary election last week. We backed 79 candidates this election and have 67 candidates moving forward into the General Election. In one particularly impressive and highly anticipated victory, pro-life candidate Darin Harbick soundly defeated incumbent Representative Charlie Conrad in House District 12, earning more than 80% of the vote. ORTL PAC endorsed candidates in 35 contested races. Of these, 27 strong pro-life candidates will move forward. Three candidates won their races outright. Getting strong pro-life candidates elected to office isn’t easy. This cycle, our political advocacy team reached over 200,000 households with direct mail, phone calls, and emails, encouraging residents to vote for pro-life candidates. During the same period, our grassroots team knocked on 12,368 doors engaging in one-on-one conversations about pro-life laws and encouraging Oregonians to support candidates who will stand up for life. We’re thrilled with how our endorsed candidates did in the primary, but there’s a higher hill to climb as we approach the General Election in November.
