I wanted to pass along this lovely note to you from a pro-life hero saving lives from abortion every day. Here it is:

My name is Astrid Bennett Orduño. I head a pro-life pregnancy resource center in California called Los Angeles Pregnancy Services.

I asked Live Action to share this story with you because I want you to know how you have empowered moms to embrace the lives of their preborn children — moms like Alana.

Alana walked through my doors, 9 weeks pregnant, scared and unsure of what to do.

She searched on the internet to research her options, especially abortion. She came into our center to receive more information to make the best decision.

What caused her to struggle the most was feeling unsupported by her boyfriend, the baby's father.

She felt that it was not the right time to have a child since she thought the child would interfere with any hope for the relationship. The client advocate gave Alana information on what she might see advertised to her as options, especially abortion, and the risks involved.

Alana shared that she is a Christian, so while she felt pressured to choose abortion, the thought was causing emotional pain and guilt.

The client advocate offered Alana the opportunity to see what an abortion procedure entailed via a video produced by Live Action, which showed former abortion doctors explaining what the procedures did to the baby and possibly to the mother.

She later told us how crucial these videos were in helping her decide to keep her child.

The clients who walk through the doors of Los Angeles Pregnancy Services are in their most desperate moments.

They are just moments away from an abortion, and we often counsel them in their most vulnerable state.

I am excited to write to you through Live Action because my pregnancy center has been using Live Action resources for years, and they have made a huge difference in my team’s ability to help mothers and save babies from abortion.

After speaking with our client advocate, Alana relaxed and was able to reflect on her future with her baby. While she knew her family might initially be upset when she shared that she was pregnant, she knew that they would grow to love and welcome her child.

Alana was also encouraged when the client advocate shared the life-affirming options of adoption and parenting support. She was grateful to know of all the help available to her at our center if she embraced the life of her baby.

She left our center that first day with helpful information and much upon which to think and pray.

When our client advocate checked in on Alana the next day, she was happy to discover that Alana had rejected an abortion for her baby. During her pregnancy, we connected her with medical care, maternity clothes, baby items, financial help, and our diaper program.

Once Alana embraced life and began to share with those in her life about her pregnancy (friends, co-workers) – she was happy to experience an outpouring of loving support for her and her baby. This was something she did not expect.

Alana’s son, Edward, was born in 2023, and she could not be happier!

When she returned with newborn baby Edward to visit our team again, a staff member asked her what helped her the most to embrace life. She answered:

“What helped me the most was the time I spent with [the client advocate] at the center and consenting to see a video that showed the abortion procedures. I chose to fight for my baby’s life and my own life. Today, I feel so blessed!”

There are hundreds more Alanas in my community today who need to see these videos and discover the help waiting for them in my center. But we won’t be able to reach them without your help.
