It’s graduation season, John!

And that means graduating seniors need to know whether they can continue to use their student ID as a voter ID, and if not, how they can get an accepted form of voter ID to use this fall.

VoteRiders is here to help. We’re doing direct outreach on campuses in eight key states, reaching thousands of student voters — especially young voters of color — and helping them navigate the confusing voter ID/student ID landscape.

In some states, a student ID is sufficient for voting. In others, it must be unexpired. In still others, student IDs aren’t accepted at all, only government-issued IDs.

It’s confusing, and that confusion means people might get turned away at the polls or stay home rather than risk being shamed or embarrassed. 

That’s why VoteRiders is reaching out to students now and will continue to do so through November 5 — to make sure students have the information and ID they need to vote with confidence.
