| | 🏘️ Affordable Housing Month Is Happening Across the Bay! |
| |
|
| We’re heading into the last leg of Affordable Housing Month and we’re excited to share a few highlights of the many exciting partnerships and activations that have been unfolding! - ⚽️ Earlier this month, NPH’s public information campaign, Begins with Home, was at the Oakland Roots Soccer Club game – passing out pennants, taking pictures of fans at our open door installation, and engaging local residents in our core collective message: Our future begins with home! We even got to interview the Roots players about what they think about housing in the Bay Area. View and share via TikTok and Instagram!
- 💖 🏘️ What does affordable housing mean to our communities? View and share the inspiring stories of Nikki and Niccole, two affordable housing residents who told their stories to Generation Housing about how living affordably has transformed their lives.
- 🏗️ What building an affordable future looks like! Check out our sizzle reel of new affordable housing developments going up across San Francisco and the number of homes each is making possible. View and share via TikTok and Instagram!
🗣️ There’s still time to help spread the word and amplify Affordable Housing Month messaging with our social media toolkit, which includes sample copy, social media graphics, and more! |

| | ✊ Advancing Equity in Our Industry: Supplier Diversity Summit |
| |
|
| Earlier this month, NPH’s Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) Working Group Equity in Contracting subcommittee co-hosted with Swinerton the first-ever 2024 NorCal Affordable Housing Supplier Diversity Summit! This event brought together diverse businesses and suppliers – including minority, women, LGBTQIA+, and disabled veteran business enterprises – for an opportunity to interface with contractors, developers, and advocates in affordable housing! Notable highlights: - NPH Senior Racial Equity & Inclusion Program Manager Monica Joe was presented with a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Champion award at this event! For over five years, Monica’s work has helped advance equity and inclusion at NPH and throughout the broader affordable housing movement.
- State Treasurer Fiona Ma, whose office is responsible for many elements critical to advancing our work, including carrying out the provisions of AB 2873, joined us and delivered keynote remarks. (This bill will require our members to report on the diverse businesses they work with and set goals to increase diversity in the coming years.) Ma’s remarks emphasized the importance of supporting small businesses.
- NPH Executive Director Amie Fishman provided the event’s closing remarks, inspiring hope and action ahead.
This event was a huge step forward in advancing equity in affordable housing, because it really does matter who we do business with! |
