(Las Vegas, NV) – Over Memorial Day weekend, Nevada 3rd district congressional candidate Marty O'Donnell loaned his campaign $700,000 in a brazen attempt to buy this crucial U.S. House seat.
O'Donnell's campaign has failed to gain traction since announcing his candidacy in March. The liberal musician has been marred by social media posts in which he called President Donald Trump an "idiot," compared Trump's supporters to Nazis and farm animals, campaigned for socialist Bernie Sanders, and even celebrated President Obama's tax hikes.
O'Donnell claims serving on jury duty as his previous political experience. Las Vegas-based Liberty Watch magazine called O'Donnell "one of most unqualified, ill-prepared candidates to run for office in Nevada in recent memory."
Now, in a desperate, last-ditch effort to buy the primary, he has loaned his campaign $700,000, much of which will presumably be used to attack conservative Republican front-runner and grassroots favorite Drew Johnson.
During a May interview with The Epoch Times, O'Donnell admitted this troubling scheme, stating, "I'm not going to lose because someone thinks they can spend more money than me, because they can't."
When asked about O'Donnell's antics, Johnson stated:
"It's no surprise that Never Trumper Marty O'Donnell's campaign has hit a sour note with voters. He can't hide from his very public record of supporting and promoting far-left candidates and causes.
O'Donnell refuses to debate because he doesn’t understand the issues facing our district, he has made no effort to meet the voters of the district and hear their concerns, and he has never even sat foot in significant areas of CD3 like Laughlin, Searchlight, Sandy Valley, Little Ethiopia, theDean Martin RNP,or Section 10.
His only chance to win this election is to try to buy it because he sure doesn't deserve to serve in Congress based on merit or commitment to the people of the 3rd district.
Southern Nevada voters are too smart to allow some guy who just moved to town from Seattle to buy this Congressional seat. Our campaign has been on the ground, working hard to win this primary for more than a year. According to the poll numbers, our message and enthusiasm have resonated well with the voters."
The primary for Nevada's 3rd congressional district will be held on June 11th. Early voting is underway. To learn more about Drew and his campaign, please visit DrewforNevada.com.
