The Supreme Court put my life and the lives of my fellow Wisconsinites at risk by leaving us with no choice but to vote in person during a global pandemic.
This is unacceptable. Will you join me in supporting Demand Justice’s important work holding the Supreme Court accountable?

Friend,
Last Tuesday, I worked at a polling place in Racine, Wisconsin as my neighbors and community members stood in line waiting to cast their ballots.
This wasn’t the way it should have been.
Not everyone had a mask or gloves. It was impossible to check an ID from six feet away, so we couldn’t practice the advised social distancing. My fellow poll workers and I did our best to try to disinfect the clipboards and pens people had to use.
People were scared. People were frustrated. People were nervous and angry.
I’ve been closely monitoring the coronavirus spread and have been leaving my house as little as possible. I wanted to stay at home and vote by mail in order to follow public health guidelines in the middle of a global pandemic. My neighbors did too. We don’t want to risk getting sick or endanger anyone else’s health.
But the Supreme Court had a different idea. Hours before the polls opened, the Court ruled that absentee voting couldn’t be extended, despite the COVID-19 crisis.
Outrageous. The Supreme Court’s conservative majority came together to gut our democracy while putting so many people’s health at risk.
I’m determined to do everything I can to hold this Supreme Court accountable, but I can’t do it alone. Will you rush a contribution before midnight tomorrow to support Demand Justice’s important work taking back our courts?

John Roberts, Brett Kavanaugh, and the rest of the conservative justices on the Supreme Court threw public health guidance out the window in an attempt to suppress Democratic votes.
The Republican Supreme Court majority is bad for our health and bad for our democracy, plain and simple.
We can’t let the Republican justices hurt more Americans next. Chip in now and join me in supporting Demand Justice’s work to take back our courts.
People died fighting for our right to vote. No one should have to risk their life to exercise that right today. So much is at stake with each election. I’m thinking about my neighbors who were forced to risk their lives all across Wisconsin -- and I hope you’ll join me.
Thank you,
Charles Swanson
Donald Trump is openly taking over our courts, and if we let him succeed, his nominees will keep his hateful vision alive on the federal bench for decades. Join Demand Justice and take a stand to protect our nation's courts.
