With our end-of-the-month fundraising deadline right around the corner, I've spent the week meeting with our finance team. Here's what they told me:

If we're going to defend this critical battleground district in November, we can't afford to miss our fundraising goals over the next few months.

This may sound dramatic, with Election Day still 5 months away, but it takes time to build a successful grassroots campaign. All of the most critical decisions are made long before many donors begin paying attention in September or October.

Friend, if we wait until October to hire organizers, build our voter registration program, and begin voter outreach and mobilization work, we'll lose this race.

It's vital that we meet our fundraising goals right now. We need these resources to build our field team and get to work.
