Political campaigns may not seem essential right now, but democracy is.
That point hit home yesterday, when I received this note from a supporter in Longmont.
“I’m grateful to have you running for U.S. Senate,” she wrote. “These are terrifying and uncertain times, and Colorado, as well as the rest of the nation, needs strong and righteous leadership.
“Please continue to advocate for all those with the least power, as you have throughout your career.
We need hope for better days.”
If you’re struggling with illness or a loss of income, caring for a loved one, or fighting on the front line of this pandemic, you have my support. Nothing matters as much as your survival and your success.
That’s why we must build a health care system and an economy that work for everyone. We need leaders capable of not only conquering COVID but also closing the enormous gaps this crisis has laid bare.
What does that mean—and how do we make it happen? Join us for a virtual town hall tomorrow night, Tuesday, April 14, at 5 pm MDT.
Our special guest:
Jillian Freeland, sociologist, midwife, and Democratic candidate for Congressional District 5. Jillian and I will field your questions on
Facebook and on
Zoom.
We’ll get through these dark days together. Let’s create a future in which all of us can thrive.
