HELP US COME UP WITH A PLAN...

Dear Friends,

I hope you were able to enjoy a brief respite this weekend from the constant pressures, zoom calls and challenges of life during COVID-19.

My family and I - some in different places - watched mass and Andrea Bocelli perform from Milan, Italy. We look forward to the day - hopefully in September - when we are able to convene in that fair country for the US-Italia Ed Innovation Festival that we have been planning.

Ironically, the purpose of that event was to highlight the amazing progress of ed tech innovators in Italy with the U.S. and other global leaders in transforming education. That goal can come none too soon - for all of us! - as we look to reinvent education to be ready for a changing world!

Let’s work together to do just that - starting with gatherings like tomorrow’s 1-hour webinar, Part II in our Ed Innovation Series at 11 am EST.

Since we can’t yet convene in Italy, join the most innovative leaders in education tomorrow to hear about their work on the front lines working across public, private and charter schools are ensuring that education is delivered to kids nationally with purposeful outcomes for their learning (and not just busy work).

In fact, as I write, I’m deeply concerned about what I heard AFT’s Randi Weingarten say Friday night on Fox News’ Martha McCallum show, that their prescription for helping students to catch is a bandaid 4-week voluntary summer school. If that’s the best they can do, we have our work cut out for us!

This is a time for action. We need a plan that our nation’s leaders at all levels deploy so that all American students can be learning and advancing in their education no matter where they physically are - now, not just for 4 or 6 or even 12 weeks.

Learn from some of the best and work with us to truly transform learning for a new 21st century paradigm.
