Robert De Niro Headlines Disastrous Democrat Press Conference Outside NYC Courthouse of Trump’s Trial
Fox News: Social media users on the right mocked the Biden campaign after it held a chaotic press conference on Tuesday outside the Manhattan courthouse holding former President Trump’s criminal trial. The press conference was headlined by liberal actor Robert De Niro, who stars in a new ad campaign for President Biden. The actor claimed that Trump “wants to destroy” the city and the nation and eventually could destroy the entire world ( Fox News). Charlie Kirk: The Democrats parade a washed up actor, Robert De Niro, outside of Trump’s trial, a man who has spewed vile, pejorative-filled poison at Trump multiple times, and now he’s upset Trump supporters are shouting at him in protest! De Niro is a unhinged, entitled maniac ( X). Greg Price: They decided it would be great idea to show that Biden isn’t involved in prosecuting his political opponent by having a press conference outside the NYC courtroom where they also got the date wrong on their media advisory ( X).

Biden’s Polling Numbers Have Democrat Strategists Panicking
Politico: A pervasive sense of fear has settled in at the highest levels of the Democratic Party over President Joe Biden’s reelection prospects, even among officeholders and strategists who had previously expressed confidence about the coming battle with Donald Trump. All year, Democrats had been on a joyless and exhausting grind through the 2024 election. But now, nearly five months from the election, anxiety has morphed into palpable trepidation, according to more than a dozen party leaders and operatives. “You don’t want to be that guy who is on the record saying we’re doomed, or the campaign’s bad or Biden’s making mistakes,” said a Democratic operative in close touch with the White House. But Biden’s stubbornly poor polling and the stakes of the election “are creating the freakout,” he said. Despite everything, Trump is running ahead of Biden in most battleground states. He raised far more money in April, and the landscape may only become worse for Democrats, with Trump’s hush-money trial concluding and another — this one involving the president’s son — set to begin in Delaware ( Politico).

Majority of Democrats Favor Replacing Joe Biden on the Ticket
Washington Examiner: More Democrats than Republicans want President Joe Biden kicked off the ticket, a shocking dismissal of the party chief just months before Election Day. Fifty-four percent of Democratic likely voters would approve of Biden being replaced, a very unlikely possibility with the party nominating convention set for mid-August. Biden has won his primaries in runaways. They have no alternative in mind other than former first lady Michelle Obama, who has repeatedly vowed not to run ( Washington Examiner). Rasmussen: Nearly half of voters – including a majority of Democrats – think it’s OK for the Democratic Party to replace President Joe Biden with some other candidate. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 49% of Likely U.S. Voters would approve of Democrats finding another candidate to replace Biden before the election in November ( Rasmussen).

Judge Denies Jack Smith’s Attempt to Put Gag Order on Donald Trump
In the Florida case regarding presidential documents. Hill: Judge Aileen Cannon chastised special counsel Jack Smith’s team Tuesday after she said the lawyers failed to meaningfully reach out to former President Trump’s attorneys on a motion to limit his speech in the classified documents case after Trump claimed law enforcement had the power to assassinate him. She likewise denied a motion from Trump’s legal team seeking to censure prosecutors over the matter. Trump’s lawyers fired back Tuesday, after Smith asked the judge to put a stop to his false claims that FBI agents had a green light to assassinate him during their search for documents at the former president’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida ( Hill). Washington Examiner: Friday, Smith requested Trump be barred from talking about the law enforcement agents who searched his home, for their safety. Cannon said Smith’s request was “wholly lacking in substance and professional courtesy,” due to the timing of the request ( Washington Examiner).

Biden’s $400 Million Pier in Gaza Destroyed, Suspends Operations
Townhall: After spending nearly $400 million to construct a “humanitarian pier” in the Gaza Strip, which President Joe Biden announced during his State of the Union address in March, the formerly floating nightmare is sinking into the sea and operations have been suspended. Last week the pier broke apart and washed up on the beach in Israel ( Townhall). Breaking911: Pentagon acknowledges Joe Biden’s Gaza pier is sinking, aid deliveries suspended ( X).

Biden Plays Politics By Draining Oil Reserves to Lower Gas Prices
Katie Pavlich: Ahead of the 2024 election and busy summer travel season, President Joe Biden announced over the weekend he will tap the Northeast Gasoline Supply Reserve in an effort to lower gas prices at the pump. The Northeast Gasoline Supply Reserve is supposed to be used in response to natural disasters or other emergencies that disrupt supplies, not to lower prices for political reasons ( Townhall). RNC Research: Karine Jean-Pierre brags about “lowering the price of gas” by “selling one million barrels of gasoline from the Northeast Gasoline Supply Reserve.” FACT: The nationwide average for gas remains ~50% higher than the day Biden took office ( X).

Pete Buttigieg Grilled: Why Are There Only Seven New Charging Stations With $7.5 Billion in Funding?
Townhall: The Biden administration’s electric vehicle push has not been well received by the American people. Few want the expensive, unreliable cars that require planning trips around charging stations and waiting around for the battery to recharge. Gas-powered vehicles are simply more reliable, no matter the weather, and are much more convenient. That’s why Hertz, which once said EVs would make up a quarter of its rental fleet by 2025, changed course earlier this year, selling about 20,000 of them to buy more combustion engine vehicles. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg appeared on CBS’s “Face the Nation” where he was pressed on the issue, particularly why taxpayers have spent so much money to see only a handful of charging stations go up ( Townhall). RNC Research: Pete Buttigieg has a VERY tough time trying to explain why “only 7 or 8 electric vehicle charging stations have been produced with the $7.5 BILLION investment that taxpayers made back in 2021” ( X).

Female Prison Guards in California Forced to Strip Search Men Claiming to Be Transgender
National Review: Female prison guards in California have been traumatized after being forced to perform naked strip searches on male felons under the state department of corrections’ gender-inclusion rules. For decades, the department prohibited female officers from conducting unclothed strip searches on male inmates except in emergency circumstances, such as when a same-sex officer is not available or if the male inmate is at risk of harming themselves or others. Now, “Incarcerated individuals who are transgender, non-binary, or intersex must be searched according to the gender designation of the institution where they are housed or based on the individual’s search preference,” according to official prison policy. While there, trans-identifying male inmates are entitled to request that they only be searched by female guards. The female guards are required to perform the searches or face penalties or termination ( National Review).

Iran Increases Supply of Enriched Uranium
Associated Press: Iran has further increased its stockpile of uranium enriched to near weapons-grade levels, according to a report by the United Nations’ nuclear watchdog. Iran is seeking to have economic sanctions imposed over the country’s controversial nuclear program lifted in exchange for slowing the program down. The program — as all matters of state in Iran — are under the guidance of Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei ( Associated Press). Fox News: A report from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said that as of May 11, Iran had 313.2 pounds of uranium enriched up to 60% — an increase of 45.4 pounds since the last report by the U.N. watchdog in February. Uranium enriched at 60% purity is just a short, technical step away from weapons-grade levels of 90%. According to the IAEA, around 92.5 pounds of uranium enriched to 60% is the amount needed to theoretically create one atomic weapon if the uranium is enriched to 90%. IAEA head Rafael Grossi has stated in the past that Iran has enough enriched uranium for “several” nuclear weapons ( Fox News).

Canada Increases Refugee Visa Limit for Gazans to 5,000
Just the News: Canada said it will increase the number of Gazans who will be eligible for visas from 1,000 to 5,000. Gazans will be able to apply for a temporary resident visa if they live in Gaza, are related to a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident who lives in Canada, and they will be supported by that relative for a year. In most cases, people granted visas will be able to stay for up to three years ( Just the News). Reuters: “While movement out of Gaza is not currently possible, the situation may change at any time. With this cap increase, we will be ready to help more people as the situation evolves,” Immigration Minister Marc Miller said. A spokesperson for Miller said 448 Gazans had been issued a temporary visa, including 254 under a policy not related to the special visa program, and 41 have arrived in Canada so far ( Reuters).
