On the road with Leaundrea Manning. Truckers are our new heroes.

Independent Women’s Forum is delighted to announce that Leaundrea Manning, who drives a truck and is working through the coronavirus crisis, is the latest in our popular series of Champion Women profiles ([link removed]) .

Ms. Manning of Shawnee, Kansas says that if you’d told her a year ago that she’d be on the forefront in a national crisis, she wouldn’t have believed you. But suddenly, truckers are the new American heroes.

Manning is one of the nation’s 3.5 million professional truck drivers who are keeping the shelves of our grocery stores stocked and delivering other necessary supplies to keep the country going.

Leaundrea started off in the warehouse department of her company but always had her eye on being a trucker. She has an incredible work ethic, inspired by her mother, whom you’ll meet in this profile.

Leaundrea’s first consideration is always her three children. That is why she’s on the job, and has sanitized her truck, before most of us get up in the morning.

It was recently noticed that truck drivers, nurses and cops, are currently more admired than college professors, diversity counselors, and journalists.

You only have to meet Leaundrea Manning to realize that we are getting our priorities straight.
