Happy Tuesday!
Here’s an update from another busy week.
Memorial Day in Burlington and Rochester
On Memorial Day, we remember, honor, and pay tribute to our nation’s service members who gave the ultimate sacrifice. This year, I spent my Memorial Day in Burlington and Rochester.
We kicked things off with a great crew at the Burlington Memorial Day Parade.
Then, I was honored to join the many service members, veterans, and families at Veterans Park for the Memorial Day Ceremony.
Then, we were on to our next stop in Rochester.
This year, Rochester hosted their 158th consecutive Memorial Day Celebration. It was a privilege to attend their historic Memorial Day parade!
Racine St. Catherine’s Commencement
Last Friday, I had the honor of being the commencement speaker for Racine St. Catherine’s Class of 2024. These graduates are entering a world in a state of immense and fast change, but also a time of tremendous opportunity and great challenge.
I reminded the graduates that much more unites us than divides us. And today’s challenges will not stand in your way if you focus on your goals. Our divisions are not so deep that the American dream is gone forever.
The Racine St. Catherine’s Class of 2024 is an impressive bunch, and they make me optimistic about the future of our nation!
Getting Results in Washington
Last week, my committee passed a bill that requires proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote nationally in an effort to prevent non-citizens from voting in federal elections.
I'm committed to ensuring Americans have confidence in their elections. Preventing noncitizen voting and foreign influence in our elections is a critical component of restoring trust in our elections.
