Imagine a district with robust infrastructure, reliable connectivity, affordable childcare, and high-quality local education and vocational training. Jobs with livable wages, affordable and available housing, and access to quality healthcare. We need to attract new industries and support local businesses.
Our leaders should recognize the importance of energy independence while protecting the environment and addressing climate change.
Our leaders can no longer be satisfied with our district’s counties being at the top for unemployment, childhood poverty, and wages that aren’t sufficient for a middle-class life.
We need leaders who can anticipate problems before they are felt, like having three of the oldest counties in the nation, not as a retirement mecca but because of a lack of jobs for our youth to stay.
We need leaders who believe in democracy, not its subversion.
We need leaders who treat everyone with decency and respect, who can admit mistakes, and who strive to unite us rather than divide us. Trump and Bergman are disconnected from these core needs and values.
Let's seize this opportunity to mobilize and elect people who truly understand and champion our local issues. That’s my goal; to be that leader - to champion our rural way of life.
