Those of you who know me know that I wish we didn't have to send these emails in order to fund our campaign.

But at the end of the day, these emails are a now-critical way to ensure the outcome of this Senate race and the presidential race in Michigan.

So at the end of the day, I’m hoping a few emails clogging your inbox are a relatively small price to pay for Democrats' success in such an important state.

Today, I am writing to give you all fair warning that we have to pick up the frequency of these emails to meet our fundraising goals for May. We're probably going to be sending two per day because the reality is we are short of our fundraising goals right now.

These goals are not arbitrary, they are what we need to hit in order to win. So I hope you'll take my discomfort with these emails paired with the increased frequency we have to send them as a sign of how critical this situation is.

I certainly do not expect you to give to every email we send. That would be ridiculous. And we do exclude people from messages for a while after they donate. But because of our financial situation right now, I do hope you'll give to this one.

So, with all of that as an explanation, can I count on you to contribute to my Senate campaign in Michigan? Our average online donation is around $30. Some give less. Many give more. I am just hoping lots of people donate to help us reach our goals today.
