46.8% of American workers are employed by small businesses, and if they fail, there will be a catastrophic disaster for our economy not seen since the Great Depression.
That’s why I’m disturbed by the multiple reports that the implementation of small business relief in the recently passed CARES Act has been a mess.
While I'm proud that Congress passed the $2 trillion CARES Act — the largest aid package in American history with substantial relief for small businesses, it’s clear more needs to be done to overcome Mitch McConnell’s obstruction and make needed fixes to save small businesses from ruin.
That’s exactly what I'm fighting to do, but I need your help to get it done.
Add your name here to demand that Mitch McConnell stop blocking Congress from taking immediate action to fix the holes in the small business relief component of the CARES Act to prevent another Great Depression. [[link removed]]SAVE SMALL BUSINESSES [[link removed]]
Countless retail stores, small restaurants, and non–profit organizations have been unable to access the funds they need to survive.
To rub salt in the wound, the Trump administration unilaterally changed the conditions, so the money granted will be significantly smaller to small business owners and their employees.
To fix this problem, we need more money for the program and a better process to get money in the hands of small businesses before they collapse and spike our already high unemployment numbers.
Many of these small businesses are owned by people who have put their life-savings into their work and are now facing economic devastation for themselves and employees who they often see as extended family members — through no fault of their own.
Sign here to demand that Mitch McConnell stop playing political games and let Congress take immediate action to fix the catastrophic flaws in the small business relief section of the CARES Act. [[link removed]]
We need entrepreneurs to be entrepreneurs by giving them the resources they need to save their companies and half of all American jobs. Our economic future depends on swift action.
We’re all in this together,
Jerry
