Join Power Hour on Wednesday, May 29th to fight disinformation!
Here we go again (again!) The real estate lobby is spreading disinformation about Local Law 97 and your legislator is the target. Join Power Hour on Wednesday May 29th 12-1 on zoom to fight disinformation and arm your legislator with facts. Local 97 is the nation's boldest municipal bill that aligns building codes with our climate goals. Buildings in New York City account for over 70% of greenhouse emissions, so this is big and will pave the way for other cities the world over. Join us in contacting our electeds.
Help us fight Mayor Adams’ budget cuts for climate action
Mayor Adams’ proposed budget cuts ignore our worsening climate crisis and the threat it poses to our youngest and most vulnerable New Yorkers. We're calling for green, healthy schools and clean buildings so that all New Yorkers have access to clean air, healthy learning environments, and safe workplaces. It only takes a few minutes to send an email and make a call in support.

FROM OUR FRIENDS AND ALLIES
Defend Local Law 97- A virtual briefing
June 12, 7pm - 8pm
In 2023, NYC passed its "Green New Deal for Buildings," Local Law 97, which requires large buildings to cut their greenhouse gas emissions steadily over time. Unable to block the bill itself, big real estate interests have now introduced a bill that would carve out so many exceptions to LL97 as to weaken it considerably. Find out how we can turn this threat back. Register for a virtual briefing by Food & Water Watch and other climate allies on Wednesday, June 12, from 7 to 8 pm.
