John, a quick note here from me. I like to take a couple minutes to myself when I can, and reflect about why we’re doing this work. Today I was thinking back to what it felt like in 2016 when Trump won. That terrible, terrible feeling. We didn’t know exactly what would come next, but we knew it would be bad. Trump’s Supreme Court — his appointed justices — struck down Roe v. Wade. His “leadership” in the pandemic led to more than a million deaths. And his conspiracies and election denial pushed our democracy to the brink on January 6th. Do not, ever, let anyone tell you that elections do not matter. I wake up every day ready to do whatever I can to defeat Kari Lake, Trump’s “MAGA Queen.” She’s dangerous enough on her own, but if she and Trump both win in Arizona this year, we’re all in big trouble.
