Democratic Socialist candidate Gabriel Sanchez has won the Georgia State House Primary in House District 42! We want to thank all of DSA's volunteers who contributed to this campaign over the last 6 months - door knocking, phone banking, and more! This was truly a people-powered campaign. Together, campaign volunteers knocked 17,000 doors and made 11,000 phone calls to voters. We couldn't have done this without all of you!
This win was a resounding victory for Democratic Socialism in the South. Overwhelmingly, voters we spoke with at the door strongly support the issues we championed - affordable housing, Medicare for All, abortion rights, and green union jobs! Socialist issues are popular, and our resounding 14 percentage point victory shows this is true.
Securing the Democratic nomination is major, but the fight isn’t over. Come out to our DSA Mass Meeting this Saturday at 1PM to learn what's next and celebrate!

Join us to celebrate our victory, debrief how we won, and discuss our next steps. We will hear the latest from our chapter's campaigns and committees, discuss current events in the chapter, and debate and vote on resolutions. We'll also hold an orientation for new members at 12-1pm before the meeting. All members are encouraged to attend, and interested non-members are welcome!

🏥 Volunteer as an Abortion Clinic Escort! 🏥

Want to get more involved in local reproductive justice work? Feminist Women's Health Center needs clinic escorts! Escorts usher abortion patients past anti-choice protestors on to clinic property, ensuring a sense of safety in the face of insults, harassment, and misinformation. Shifts run on Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday mornings.
If you're interested in volunteering, please fill out one of these two forms (1, 2) depending on what date you'd like to attend training, and this form to indicate your specific interest in escorting. Next, email Atlanta DSA member Caroline Todd at [email protected], who will connect you with FWHC's volunteer coordinator to speed up the vetting process! The next two trainings will take place on in person June 11 and June 24 at 6:30 p.m. at the clinic at 1924 Cliff Valley Way NE.
