Hi John,
The spring of an election year is always a busy and anticipatory time for CLASP. As candidates carve out their agendas and priorities, we remain committed to ensuring that often-overlooked communities of color, workers, immigrants, families with low incomes, and young adults are heard and have a real seat at the table. At CLASP, these communities are the drivers of our work every year, not just during election season. We need to ensure that policymakers and those in power have access to the data and stories of families, immigrants, youth, women, and workers to ensure fair and just policy solutions.
That's why I'm calling on you to make your 2024 tax-deductible gift to CLASP today.
This year, thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, we are able to match all new and increased donations up to $50,000. Help us reach and exceed this goal by making your gift today!

With your help, we can remain a trusted voice at the federal, state, and local levels advancing economic, racial, and gender equity. Fighting for a more just society requires all of us to work together.
We understand that the democratic process hinges on the voices of those with lived expertise, and I’m proud of our efforts to center people, their experiences, and their expertise in every level of policy development and implementation.
Because of CLASP’s commitment to centering these individuals, we've seen huge advancements in equitable and impactful policies. Years of scrutinizing data and cultivating partnerships have brought us to this moment – and there is so much on the line. Please make your 2024 renewal contribution to CLASP now!
CLASP will continue to play a pivotal role in shaping the policy landscape throughout this election year, but I wanted to share recent achievements and opportunities made possible with your support: -
In March 2024, CLASP and other labor-focused organizations launched a new coalition aimed at transforming the workforce development system into one that centers the socio-economic needs and well-being of working people. Together with this coalition, we released Unleashing Worker Power: Building Good Jobs Beyond the Traditional Workforce System, a report describing a workforce development system that centers workers, combats the legacies of structural racism and sexism, elevates the floor on all jobs for all workers, and connects people to good jobs. We hope this report, and others like it, will inspire interest, innovation, and concrete policy action.
-
We recently released a brief, CLASP Federal Recommendations to Combat Child Labor, which examines the alarming rise in child labor violations and exploitation of migrant children in the United States. The brief contains a series of tangible legislative recommendations that policymakers should consider, including increased monetary penalties for child labor violations and increased funding for child labor enforcement efforts.
-
For years, CLASP has worked in coalition with other organizations seeking to provide recipients of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival with health coverage through the Affordable Care Act, which has excluded these young people since 2012. On May 3, the Biden Administration finalized a rule that removes the exclusion, allowing thousands of young immigrants access to affordable health care.

Our technical assistance continues to have a tremendous impact. CLASP provided detailed technical assistance as the state of Maryland implemented “presumptive eligibility,” which allows families to receive child care assistance when they need it without paperwork delays. Our advocacy was also instrumental in the recently issued child care final rule that encourages all states to adopt “presumptive eligibility” for child care assistance.
Want to learn more about our impact in 2023? Read our recently released 2023 Impact Report here.
While we are proud of these successes, we know we're in for the fight of our lives to protect workers, youth and young adults, children, families, people with low incomes, communities of color, and immigrants—but we can’t do it alone. Please make your 2024 renewal gift to CLASP now. Ensure that your gift has double the impact by giving today to have it matched up to $50,000! Thank you for being an integral part of #TeamCLASP! |
