Hi John - Like most of you I hope, I’ve been spending the last few weeks at home, practicing social distancing and adjusting to whole new levels of social “togethering” with my wife and 7 and 3 year old kids. Thankfully, my wife and I can work from home and, while my daughters’ school and child care programs are closed, help them continue learning. Many families aren’t that lucky, especially those that rely on child care programs to educate their kids and keep them safe while they work on the frontlines of this crisis. That’s why I’m so proud of the work that tens of thousands of Save the Children Action Network activists – like you! – did. Your emails and calls to Congress made the difference to secure some funding for child care providers in the short term. Unfortunately, we need to do much more to help ensure that our children have quality early learning opportunities when this is all over. Parents need child care so they can get back to work. Our economy depends on it! We’re in this fight for child care for the long-haul. The support of thousands of people like you fuels all our work on behalf of kids. And I’m reaching out today to ask that you donate whatever you can to help us speak up for kids here at home and around the world. I know finances are uncertain for many right now, so even a $10 or $20 donation can make a difference in our work on behalf of kids. Make a donation today and your support will be doubled, thanks to a generous donor who is matching all gifts up to $20,000! Congress will soon be assessing the impact of their last stimulus plan to determine what else our economy and workers need. You and I know that our economy, families and kids depend on quality child care. And while industries like airlines and hotels have highly paid lobbyists to ensure their businesses are protected, kids and child care providers have us. We need to be there for them now more than ever. Help amplify our voice for kids by becoming a financial supporter today. Your impact will be doubled! Thank you for being a voice for kids, |
