How Liv helped elect climate champions, and how you can too.

My name is Liv Perfetti and I live in Pittsburgh, in Western Pennsylvania. I’m reaching out to you today because I want to give you an inside look at how Food & Water Action elects climate champions to office, and why that’s so important for our food, water, and climate.
I started canvassing with Food & Water Action during the 2022 mid-term elections, because I knew how important that mid-term election was, and I wanted to do everything I could to have an impact.
I genuinely love canvassing! I think it’s the single most powerful way to get out the vote and connect with people in my community. We all get bombarded with tons of election messages, but what people remember is a human connection — a real conversation with someone like me.
Some of the most common things I heard from folks were concerns about poor air quality in Pittsburgh and fracking. And despite progress, those problems continue to persist.
Because of the hard work of Food & Water Action organizers and volunteers, like me — and the generous support of people — like you — we made progress in Pennsylvania with Chris Deluzio winning his race for Congress. And, Sarah Innamorato winning her race for Allegheny County Executive!
I don’t want to see the progress we’ve made undone overnight. We need to elect leaders who will use their power in office to do something to keep us moving forward, and Food & Water Action is working to make sure those people get elected.
