When someone says they’re willing to take away your rights, believe them, friend.
And when that someone is Pierre Poilievre, remember he’s done it before.
When he was Minister of Democratic Reform, he made it harder for half a million Canadians to vote federally through the Fair Elections Act.
And he and his Conservatives have made it clear they’re willing to use the notwithstanding clause to override your Charter rights. His anti-choice MPs are already thinking about how they can use that to make it harder for Canadian women to access abortion and health care in Canada.
It might not be your rights today, friend, but it could very well be your rights tomorrow.
