IDD Waitlist Opportunity Grant

For individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (IDD) who are currently on our Kansas IDD Waitlist in Kansas, we are offering an opportunity grant of $100 for individuals who open up an ABLE account and attend one of our roadshow sessions. We will have 850 grant opportunities to support those individuals and families who have been on the IDD Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Waitlist.

About KS ABLE Accounts

ABLE accounts allow people with disabilities to save money beyond asset limits and protect their eligibility for means-tested benefit programs such as Medicaid or SSI. Anyone can contribute to an ABLE account ? including the account owner, friends, family, organizations, nonprofits, and employers ? up to $18,000 per year as of 2024. If the account owner is working and not already contributing to a workplace retirement plan, they can contribute an additional amount equal to their current year?s gross income - for 2024 the amount is up to a maximum of $32,580.
