APRIL 13, 2020: Sixty-five percent (65%) of voters believe that the FBI ([link removed]) routinely breaks the law and illegally spies on American citizens. A _Just the News_ survey found that distrust is widespread throughout all segments of society. It comes from 66% of men and 64% of women; 72% of Republicans ([link removed]) , 62% of Democrats ([link removed]) , and 61% of independents ([link removed]) ; and 72% of black voters, 70% of Hispanics, and 63% of whites.[1] ([link removed])

_Just the News_ reports that the FBI has been accused of “failing to follow its own rules when pursuing surveillance warrants in sensitive intelligence and terrorism cases.” The problems were “first exposed in the Russia collusion probe.”[1] ([link removed])

However, as I noted in an interview with _Just the News_, "It would be a mistake to conclude that all this is the result of the investigation into President Trump's ([link removed]) campaign. Distrust in government and government agencies runs deep in America. It's been nearly half a century since a majority of voters trusted the federal government to do the right thing even most of the time. So, the latest disclosures highlighting abuse of the FISA process might be seen as confirming what voters have long suspected."[1] ([link removed])

This data comes from the _Just the News_ Daily Poll with Scott Rasmussen ([link removed]) . New data from that polling series is released every day at 2:00 p.m. Eastern time.[2] ([link removed])
