# [#]Memorial Day is a time to honor the brave military servicemen and women who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend our freedoms, and today we pay our respects to their families as well.

My family and I are eternally grateful for every service member who gave their lives to secure our nation. Whether they served in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, or our Coast Guard, their sacrifice is a debt we can never fully repay.

California has more service members than any other state, and San Diego is home to more than a quarter of a million military families – so this day hits especially close to home for those in my district and beyond.

If you’ve lost a loved one, friend, or family member in our Armed Forces, you are in my thoughts today and every day. We will continue to honor these heroes and their sacrifice.
