Our democracy is under threat from the outsized political influence of America's billionaire class. In the 2024 election alone, just 50 billionaire families have already spent over $600 million in an attempt to shape policies in their favor.
More than two-thirds of these donations went to Republican and conservative causes, with just 10 families, including the Kochs, Mellons, and Waltons, responsible for over half the total.
The aim is clear -- to further enrich themselves and entrench their power by cutting taxes on the wealthy and corporations. Meanwhile, working families struggle to afford basic necessities like healthcare, childcare, housing, and food.
This two-tiered system is fundamentally unfair and undermines the integrity of our democracy. To restore balance, we must demand that Congress pass President Biden’s Billionaire Minimum Income Tax.
Tell Congress to pass the Billionaire Minimum Income Tax to reduce billionaires' grip on our political system and build an economy that works for all Americans, not just the wealthiest few.
This common-sense reform would ensure that households worth over $100 million pay an effective tax rate of at least 25% on their full income each year, including investment gains that currently often go untaxed.
By closing these loopholes exploited by billionaires, President Biden’s plan would raise over $500 billion in the next decade. That money could fund vital services and lower costs for working families rather than further concentrating wealth and power in the hands of a few.
A fair tax system is essential for a functioning democracy. We cannot allow a small group of ultra-wealthy families to distort policies for their own benefit at the expense of everyone else.
It's time billionaires and multi-millionaires paid their fair share in taxes, just like working people already do.
