John, Happy Memorial Day.

Today, I am thinking about those who have served in the Armed Forces who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country. They are American heroes.

Here in the Lowcountry, supporting our troops is a storied tradition. South Carolinians know that they are a shining example of what it means to serve one's country with honor. Our fallen service members were courageous, dedicated, and resilient individuals who left behind families that made difficult sacrifices.

We are a stronger nation thanks to them.

Today and every day, we must continue to honor and appreciate our Armed Forces.
