Memorial Day is here, and I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the true meaning behind this holiday. Today is a day to honor the service members who have lost their lives serving our country.
As the daughter of a U.S. Air Force veteran who served in World War II and the Korean War as a fighter pilot, today is especially meaningful to me and my family.
My father imparted on us the importance of respecting those who served, and the gravity of what it means when someone makes the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Today, I ask that we all join him in honoring the true spirit of this day and remember the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Their courage and dedication have secured the freedoms and liberties we cherish today. It is our duty to ensure their legacy is never forgotten and to support the families of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Let’s also take the opportunity to thank our veterans and active-duty service members for their service and commitment to our nation.
