Today, we honor the brave men and women who served and lost their lives in our armed forces. Their dedication and sacrifice ensure the safety and security of our nation, serving as an important reminder of the debt of gratitude we owe them.

Memorial Day is a solemn reminder that our service members must be selfless and risk their lives to protect our country and uphold our values. It takes never-ending courage to serve under such circumstances.

We are also reminded at this moment to honor the families of our service members — they support them and make their service possible. Their resilience is a testament to the enduring spirit of our armed forces community.

As we honor our fallen soldiers, veterans, and their families, we must acknowledge the needs they face at home — from accessing health care to securing jobs. It is our duty to stand by them, just as they have stood by us in selfless service.

Simple thanks, joining celebrations and ceremonies, or participation in the organizations that support military families can be profound ways we say thank you.
