John,

I know that today many people may gather with family and friends for a BBQ, attend a local parade, or head out of town for a weekend away. But I hope that for a moment, maybe even while you read this email, you pause and remember what this day is all about.

Today, on Memorial Day, we reflect on the Americans who gave this country the last full measure of devotion, who laid down their lives for the promise of America.

Many Western PA families have experienced the tragedy of losing a loved one who gave this country their all. And I know that today may be an emotional day for many of you.

So for those who carry the pain from someone in their lives who paid the ultimate price: Their sacrifice and their memory will never be forgotten.
