Today, we honor those individuals who gave the ultimate sacrifice to serve and protect our country, along with the families of those who have lost their loved ones.

Memorial Day. Honor and remember our fallen heroes.

I am proud of all my family members who have served in our armed forces, including both of my grandfathers, who served during World War II.

Memorial Day reminds us of the hard work and sacrifices that many have made so that you and I can have the freedoms we have.

I’ll always support service members and their families, so I was glad to see the General Assembly pass SB0088 this year, establishing the Maryland Commission on Veterans and Military Families.

I hope you’ll join me in honoring our fallen heroes today.
