Just so you’re up to speed: On Wednesday, my brother Eugene faces his last official FEC fundraising deadline before Primary Election Day.
In order to stay on track, his campaign set an ambitious goal: Another 5,000 individual donations before our pre-primary FEC deadline, which is tomorrow at midnight.
The bad news is that our fundraising has slowed down in a big way over the last week, and we’re still about 1,230 donations short of our goal.
The good news is that 1,230 people is less than 0.1% of the folks who support this campaign and Eugene’s fight to defend our democracy. In fact, if everyone reading this chipped in right now, we’d smash that goal a day early and be in a position to file our best FEC fundraising report of the campaign so far.
So please. I’m humbly asking for your help today, John.
Our average donation is around $20. Some give more, many give less.
And the number itself is less important than the amount of people who chip in. Because it’s our job to prove that Eugene has the biggest, most enthusiastic grassroots campaign in this race.
