Honoring Our Fallen Heroes
Throughout American history, we have called upon our service members to protect and defend the American people and uphold the values that make America the greatest country in the world. Memorial Day is a day that should cause us all to remember that freedom comes at a high price. We must pay tribute to those who never made their trip home, give thanks for those who did, and offer our prayers for those still fighting for our liberty around the world today. May God be with the families of our fallen.
Protecting American Privacy and Competition
Around the world, governments have weaponized central bank digital currencies (CBDC) to track the spending habits of their citizens. In China, the CCP uses a CBDC to track spending of their citizens and created a social credit system, which punishes individuals based on their spending and behavior. We cannot allow this kind of surveillance to be imposed on American citizens. The House passed H.R. 5403, the CBDC Anti-Surveillance State Act, to prevent unelected bureaucrats from issuing a dangerous CBDC. Watch my floor speech.
House Small Business Committee Hearing
This week, I led a hearing examining the Biden administration’s burdensome regulations on Main Street America. As Chairman, I have been fighting since day one to combat the burdensome red tape that hampers small businesses across our nation. This administration has repeatedly shown that they do not consider the best interests of small business owners when rulemaking. During a time when businesses are still struggling with stubborn inflation, high interest rates, and a bleak labor market, we should not be adding additional challenges they must spend time and money to overcome. Watch my opening statement.
Presented With CPAC’s Conservative Excellence Award
I was honored to be presented with CPAC’s Conservative Excellence Award. From securing our nation and creating a thriving economy to defending our Constitution against the radical left, I will always fight to uphold conservative values and stand for the issues that matter most to Texans.
In Case You Missed It!
Biden is doubling down on his attempt to sidestep Congress and SCOTUS to transfer enormous student loan debt onto hard-working Americans, clearing another $7.7 billion in student loans for 160,000 borrowers. His refusal to hold universities accountable for out-of-control tuition costs or encourage personal responsibility has cost American taxpayers a staggering $167 billion total. Watch on Newsmax.
