John,
Over the past several decades, predatory private health insurance corporations have infiltrated traditional Medicare, pushing more and more seniors onto privatized, for-profit plans that delay and deny care to increase their profits.
These plans spend exorbitant amounts on advertising, often making false promises of better care at lower costs. But when seniors need care, they are frequently left high and dry.
The Biden administration’s Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) are holding an official comment period, seeking to collect stories from people who have suffered harm due to for-profit Medicare Advantage plans.
We’ve partnered with our friends at More Perfect Union to set up a simple form to collect these stories, and we’ll deliver them to CMS before the deadline. If you or someone you love has had a negative experience with Medicare Advantage, tell us about it here!
The comment period closes in just a few days. Your stories will be instrumental in shaping policy that puts people first instead of profits. By sharing your experiences, you'll help create a system that truly supports our seniors' well-being. Whether you've faced denied claims, delayed treatments, or struggled with prior authorizations, your voice matters.
Health care is a human right. Period. It is abhorrent for greedy private insurance corporations to exploit Medicare’s good name, profiting by delaying and denying care.
Share your story today and help protect our seniors from corporate greed!
Thanks,
Alex Lawson Social Security Works
