A PERSONAL NOTE
Good morning! I slept in a bit this morning so my email is going out kind of late. But now I'm here, coffee in hand, cat on my lap, trying my best to type and not make her mad.
Some people have asked me how I am passing the time while I'm off my feet. It's true that many of my usual ways to spend the day have been off limits but there's always plenty to do. I am working diligently on Grace and Lexie's story, I'm keeping The OP going, and I'm reading a huge pile of books that I'd ordered and never had time to sit down with. I like word games, so crossword puzzles and word searches are nice. I've been doing some daytime binge-watching, but while I do, I either crochet a piece I'm working on for the living room, or I stitch some embroidery projects.
As well, things that normally take seconds take minutes, and things that take a couple of minutes take 20 minutes.
So, just the business of day-to-day life: making food, doing the dishes, going to the bathroom, feeding the cat, what tidying up I can manage from a scooter...it takes a whole lot longer and far more energy.
I also talk to each of my daughters and my bestie every day. Those women are the lights of my life.
So, as strange as it may sound, I'm just as busy as ever.
Next week I go to the doctor for xrays to see if I'm allowed to begin partial weight bearing. My fingers are crossed because I am SO ready to be ambulatory again!
Here's an updated post-surgery pic. For those who saw the original, it's shocking how much better it looks now!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for all your love and ongoing support! Your kind words, cards, and support of the business mean more to me than I can express!
