The results of Trump’s trial are going to have a variety of ripple effects. The obvious ones we know, but today I want to share one that you might not have thought of. And it’s already happened.
GOP fundraising has skyrocketed because of Trump’s trial. They are raising millions of dollars from their base who believe they are donating to save their leader from a witchhunt.
In fact, Donald Trump recently outraised President Biden for the first time, raising more than $76 million in one month, $25 million more than Democrats.
And where does all that money flow? Yes, some of it goes to Trump’s legal fees. But a lot of it flows straight into attack ads in toss-up districts like mine. Look no further than the $1.6 million TV ad buy they just made in my district.
I haven’t shied away from calling out MAGA extremism, and the GOP knows that. They would love to beat me this cycle. Not just because of my outspokenness, but also because it means they’ll keep control of the House.
Their plan is to use this money to blanket the airwaves in our district with attack ads against me in order to flip this seat and give Trump the majority he needs in Congress to enact his extreme MAGA agenda.
