Rashida has officially filed petition signatures to be on the ballot for her re-election campaign for Congress. This is the first big step in Rashida’s re-election and it’s thanks to supporters like you who are powering our campaign.

Thanks to our growing field team who are knocking on doors and organizing events, we were able to collect and submit the needed signatures ahead of the deadline—from supporters in each community in the district.

It’s important that our field operations are up and running now, because this is how we push back against a multi-million-dollar attack campaign. AIPAC and its network spent $1 million in 2022 on a campaign seeking to misconstrue Rashida’s record of advocating for her constituents and all marginalized people. This year they’ve already spent more than $100,000 on Islamophobic attacks against Rashida, and they’re trying to defeat other progressive lawmakers as well.

We run robust grassroots re-election programs, connecting directly with district residents and prioritizing being rooted in the community. When Rashida is on the ballot, she also uplifts working class candidates and candidates of color who are demanding equal rights for all.

Rashida works closely with her constituents to craft policy, and she’s training other lawmakers on how to set up Neighborhood Service Centers in their congressional districts like she has in Michigan’s 12th. These centers help navigate government services, returning more than $5.5 million back to Rashida’s constituents in the form of Social Security and other benefits.

When residents meet with Rashida in person, they’re 100% sold on her leadership―seeing how she delivers for her district and uplifts marginalized communities and working people. Recently, Rashida held events with older members of her district, hearing directly from them on their needs, and then bringing their voices back to Congress to advocate for policies that address a lack of housing, hunger, homecare, and more.

But with attacks from anti-Palestinian group AIPAC and their allies against Rashida and other progressive legislators, we need the resources to not just respond, but to get out in front of these ugly attacks.
