Modern problems require modern solutions, and this is a significant step forward for fighting potential injustices in this new technology.

In my capacity as the First Vice Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus and as a member of the newly-created AI task force, I’ve been working tirelessly to bring civil liberties to the digital age.

We’re leading a major initiative to ensure that, as AI tech evolves, there is a deliberate focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion. I’ve been proud to lead the way in the world of civil rights in technology. Modern problems require modern solutions, and this is a significant step forward in fighting potential injustices in this new technology.

This policy series has the goal of ensuring marginalized communities don’t get left behind as we make progress. We must address bias in AI systems and educate the public on how to combat misinformation online. Deceptive online content also puts our elections at risk; more than 40% of AI-generated ads last election cycle were aimed at Black voters.

As the First Vice Chair of the CBC, I’m thrilled to see that this kind of accountability is taking hold. Our democracy is at risk with every false, misleading, undisclosed AI-generated post that is made online.

Thanks for your support, friend.
