Our May fundraising deadline is just one week away, so I’ll cut right to the chase:

Will you chip in to help us hit our grassroots fundraising goal? We just increased our monthly goal, and I’ll explain why in just a moment.

I’ll put it bluntly: Republicans are trying to buy this Senate seat.

It began when national Republicans handpicked a California bank owner to run against me.

Then, the self-funding megamillionaire outraised our campaign last quarter with the stroke of a pen when he cut himself a seven-figure check. Now, he’s using his personal fortune to help plaster the airwaves with campaign ads.

If that weren’t enough, his Republican allies have swooped in to launch ads of their own directly attacking me and misrepresenting my record. Eric Hovde and these right-wing super PACs have spent more than $11 million in total already.

We’re facing a real risk of being drowned out by this flood of spending. That is, unless we can hit our increased fundraising goals and fight back with ads of our own.

We have one week left to reach our target. Can you chip in to help me defend Wisconsin’s Senate seat from the Republicans trying to buy it?
