Today we honor his legacy.

Fellow activist,
Today marks George Floyd Day, the four-year anniversary of his senseless murder at the hands of a white police officer after a store clerk alleged that he made a purchase with a counterfeit $20 bill. We continue to be horrified by this tragic event, and our hearts go out to his family, who continue to feel the pain no family should ever have to experience.
Far too often, we see policies being passed that aim to silence our voices and disenfranchise marginalized communities. That is why it is so critical that we advocate for policy change that centers Black, Indigenous, and other people of color and brings about the change that we want to see, including policing reform, commonsense gun safety measures, protecting the freedom to vote, and more.
We are dedicated to engaging Pennsylvanians and centering Black, Indigenous, and other people of color, immigrant communities, and the youth (17-35-year-olds) all across Pennsylvania.
Let us not forget: If we’re not voting, someone else is, and it’s their voice being heard.
In solidarity,
Team NPP
The New Pennsylvania Project (NPP) is a voting rights organization with a year-round primary focus on voter registration, civic education, and mobilization. NPP centers historically disenfranchised and often neglected Black, Indigenous and other people of color, immigrant communities and the youth in our work. Through civic engagement, we ensure all eligible voters feel compelled to exercise their freedom to vote in the Commonwealth.
