Earlier this month, we gathered at the 35th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in New York to celebrate the best of LGBTQ inclusion in film, music, television, and journalism. Jennifer Lawrence helped us honor Orville Peck's contribution to music and Laverne Cox celebrated Jennifer Hudson for her dedication to amplifying LGBTQ stories and issues. Attorney General Letitia James introduced GLAAD President and CEO, Sarah Kate Ellis who shared GLAAD's plans for another rainbow wave this election cycle. Where We Are on TV reveals opportunities for more diverse and inclusive stories
Recently, GLAAD released the latest edition of the Where We Are on TV report. This study allows GLAAD to identify gaps in inclusion on television and create actionable insights and priorities for change. Social Media Safety Index gives failing grades to major social media platforms
GLAAD recently announced the findings of its fourth annual Social Media Safety Index (SMSI), the respected in-depth report on LGBTQ safety, privacy, and expression online. Despite moderate score improvements since 2023, all platforms insufficiently protect LGBTQ users.
