And we’re off! A huge thank you to everyone who came out to help on my action day this morning.  

 

I am really looking forward to the next few weeks, getting out and about, talking with and listening to people all across Chelmsford. 

 

It is a huge honour to represent the people of Chelmsford and to serve you.  Much has been delivered, but what happens next is in your hands and I hope you will put your trust in me again. 

 

I promised to use my business experience to improve Chelmsford's infrastructure.  The new railway station is on track and we have raised the funding for a new Army and Navy Junction.

 

Safety and Security matters.  We now have record officers in Essex Police.  I believe they should be out on the streets to tackling issues like anti-social behaviour, knife crime and theft. 

 

Coming from an NHS family and as an NHS doctor’s wife, I promised to support and improve our NHS.  Our new medical school is training doctors in Chelmsford.  Waiting lists are falling and we have more doctors and nurses than ever before.     

 

As a mum, I know education is key to giving our children choices and opportunities.  Every school in the Chelmsford constituency is now Good or Outstanding.   Our children are now the best readers in the Western world. We have record levels of jobs, low unemployment.  

 

I've championed new laws to keep children safe online, this is personal for me and affects too many young people.  My last job in Parliament this week was finalising a huge report on screen time and the impact on children’s education and well-being.   

 

I always support our pensioners and armed forces.  Times have been tough and the world is a more dangerous place.  I believe the Prime Minister made the right decision when he increased our defence spending to levels not seen since the Cold War. 

 

Local people also  know that a country only works if its borders are secure, and its streets are safe.   We know we can’t trust Labour with our nation’s security. 

 

Like me, you might remember the last Labour Government with its massive youth unemployment, the derisory 75p increase to the state pension, selling off the gold.  We know we can't trust Labour with the economy and that voting Lib Dem or Reform in Chelmsford will only help Labour. 

 

The next few weeks are going to be very busy.  There is always a lot to do in a general election.  If you would like to help out, put up a poster, make some calls, deliver some leaflets then please do let me know or just drop into the Chelmsford office.  

 

I hope that you know that I always work hard for Chelmsford.  Being an MP is not a ticket for glory, it’s a duty to serve.   I hope you might put your trust in me to serve the people of Chelmsford once more.
